NetTPS System

The NetTPS diagnostic tool explores and pinpoints the unrealized potential of individuals and organizations in order to maximize their growth and productivity.

The results of the modules are unique to each individual. With your coach, you will engage in a rich exploration of possibilities, rather than be shoe-horned into some pre-conceived category or direction. As you break free of out-worn habits, you will access more and more of your potential.

To further explore what we mean by potential, please read our articles, white papers, FAQs and sample reports.

NetTPS FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About NetTPS

"I am very effective at work, except when my hot buttons are hit. I always knew I should take a step back and cool off until I could approach it rationally. The problem was that I always knew all these things AFTER the fact... AFTER I’d sent the emotionally-charged email, AFTER I'd said something I regretted, AFTER I lost composure in front of my boss... I could see this problem might begin to jeopardize my credibility. It certainly wasn’t how I wanted to be. But this week, I reacted differently. This time, right when I was about to sling a defensive retort, I did indeed take a step back and did not react out of habit. I had another way to respond. It may sound like no big deal, but to me and to my co-workers, it was a big deal."

1. What is NetTPS?

NetTPS is the revolutionary web-based version of The Potentia System, a proven methodology that explores and pinpoints the unrealized potential of individuals and organizations in order to maximize their growth and productivity. Learn more … (Adobe pdf file)

2. How do people realize their potential once they discover it?

The short answer is that they take new actions that break themselves out of the out-worn, habitual and "automatic" patterns that limit access to potential. Consciously choosing new ways to think and act opens up new possibilities. The most important element is a commitment to working with what has been discovered. Once you understand why you act as you do and how to make new choices, you naturally want to integrate that learning into your daily activities. A coach certified in the NetTPS methodology expertly guides the process of recognizing automatic habits of thinking and behavior and exploring new possibilities.

3. How does NetTPS define potential?

Simply put, it's the hidden or latent possibilities and talents that a person or team has yet to realize.

4. How does NetTPS help people to explore potential?

Through an in-depth process of diagnosis and discovery based on data from a series of self-administered modules or questionnaires, a certified solutions provider helps you (1) explore areas of your potential that would most help you achieve your aspirations, and (2) take action to access your potential. For more information on the coaching relationship, please read Coaching FAQs.

5. How long does it take to complete each module?

Each module usually takes between 45 - 80 minutes to complete, depending on modem speed (modules are done on-line) and the amount of time spent responding. Individuals are encouraged to be honest and thoughtful, answering at their own pace and completing modules wherever they have access to the Internet.

6. Can a person leave a module partially done and come back to complete it later?

Yes. Just log back in. Data already entered will have been saved.

7. How are results delivered?

Professional reports are sent to the Solutions Provider who passes them to the client. These reports are used extensively during the coaching engagement and become valuable tools for further development once coaching is complete.

8. What is the Value-in-Action™ approach?

Our Values-in-Action™ approach is based on the premise that when actions are aligned with core values - the values that energize and motivate-performance and satisfaction naturally increase. By the same token, a misalignment of values and actions often reveals itself in friction and uncertainty, both detriments to performance and satisfaction.

The Values-in-Action approach helps individuals become aware of their personal core values and their unconscious habits of thinking and action that limit their potential. As their awareness increases, they are returned to being "at choice" in what actions they take, rather then "at the affect" of their unconscious habits. Once this personal insight is gained, individuals begin to accomplish goals and relate to others more effectively. Communications open up, "weirdoes" that were hard to work with become easier to work with and make a contribution, differing points of view are expressed and heard more easily, disagreements contribute to solutions rather than alienate.

9. How many NetTPS modules are there?

NetTPS consists of six web-based modules that can be used singly or in combination; each produces a separate report. They explore:

  1. Values - The Values module addresses how people, teams and businesses can best develop to align with their motivations and commitments. (See a sample report)

  2. Habits of Thinking and Action - The Habits of Thinking and Action module isolates the habits that may block unseen potential and limit learning and development. (See a sample report)

  3. Competences - The Competence module addresses the basis for credibility (knowledge, skill, opportunity) in specific roles. (See a sample report)

  4. & 5. Role Profiling for Organizations - The two Role Profiling modules provide a detailed view of future challenges and demands. (See a sample report)

  5. Development Planning - Development Planning software creates a clear, actionable plan. (See a sample report)
